Dr. Abbott,
I am on the OWL and I was losing good, about 3.5 a week, sometimes a little more until the last week of cycle 1. I only lost 1 1/2 lbs. I am doing everything according to protocol except I picked up some extra walking, but I did not eat anymore because of it. What did I do wrong? I have lost a total of 13lbs on the 1st cycle and I am doing another cycle. Could eating less that 600-700 calories affect this outcome?
Please advise is 13lbs a good loss for a month?

Keep your glass half full, not half empty! You are a success. Average weight loss of 15-20 pounds per month is just that – an average. I do not advocate eating less than 600 calories per day. Anything less than 600 may trigger dangerous levels of acidosis and potassium imbalance. And…some people who go as low as 400 calories per day trully go into starvation mode – your metabolism plummets, as does your energy level, but your weight will not budge.
